How we met
It all started in U.C. Berkeley electrical engineering lab. Charlotte was patiently waiting to use a lab computer to do her homework. When her turn had come, some jerk named Mark and his friend Gabe swooped in and hijacked Charlotte’s computer. Charlotte being the nice girl that she is, decided to let these two guys work alongside her for the day instead of kicking them to the curb.
Mark was smitten by her kindness and beauty and decided to ask Charlotte out at the final of that same class. He studied “extra hard” for the final to make sure he would finish before her, and catch her before she would walk out of the class; otherwise he’d never see her again. Good thing the final was terribly hard. No one finished early, and he was able to ask her out!
How we got engaged
Mark proposed on November 5, 2006. After getting her nice and relaxed with a massage at International Orange in San Francisco, Mark took Charlotte to a picnic lunch at Golden Gate Park, where he surprised her with an apricot cake with a caramel cage. Under the cage, in the frosting was a sparkling ring! Afterwards, they had dinner at Aqua, where a picture of him proposing to her was waiting there for Charlotte when she arrived. It turns out that Mark’s good friend Yatish had been hiding in the bushes taking pictures that day!
